Currency One SA is a leading company on the online currency exchange market in Poland which was founded after the merger of the first social media currency exchange platform – Walutomat.pl, and the first e-currency exchange office – InternetowyKantor.pl. Our task was to create a secure and user-friendly mobile app for quick currency exchange. We cooperated from 2014 to 2021.
An application handling multimillion monetary transactions monthly.
The client contacted us with the request to take over the existing, internally built mobile apps, which were outdated, and their maintenance was cost-ineffective. Our task was two-fold – on the one hand, we had to ensure the continuity of the existing product’s life, its compliance with the changes that had happened in the web version, and a lot of changes caused by legal provisions. On the other hand, at the same time, we undertook the task of refactoring the code, re-writing it in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android, redesigning the app, and changing its architecture. The additional obstacle was to rebuild the app’s code so that it could be further developed without negatively impacting the existing business.
To better understand this specific product, we built a project team consisting of our developers and employees assigned by the client. The team worked in Scrum, planning the changes in successive iterations, analyzing the progress and obstacles encountered together. As a result, the communication was like within one company, making it easier and faster to implement each stage.
The effect of our work is a state-of-the-art and user-friendly mobile app that over 900 thousand CurrencyOne users trust. Furthermore, thanks to the use of AI, we automated the customer service process, which made it quicker to handle it and eliminated the risk of errors. As a result, the newly created mobile app meets the customers’ expectations in the areas of security and convenience, which the growing user numbers confirm.
